Oct 8, 2008 - no because it makes it harder to fix. let's say a certain piece breaks, with a mac you need to go to the mac store than get it shipped across the country and a lot of the time they ship it back and say you voided warrenty. with a pc you can go absolutely anywhere to get it fixed if you don't know what you are doing. Also my point was macs hardware is so bad it makes the performance drop, and apple charges atleast 800 more than they should. they RIP YOU OFF
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - It is true that if you break a part of a mac you have to ship it to the apple store, but most macs last a few years and are going strong still when vista came out everyone had to upgrade there hardware to better specs when leopard came out you didn't need to install a lot of new things on it to make it work well. Vista isn't a bad operating system it just need some more requirements to get it working strong
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - which isn't true anymore because vista updated the kernel with SP1 and I'm running vista on 1gb of ram perfectly fine right now. 64-bit vista ultimate. you don't need a WHOLE bunch of upgrades. Just if you have a crap computer it won't run. they did the same with xp. you need an update in order to switch from 2000 to xp. Also, Macs do brake, and pretty commonly, apple doesn't want you to know that so they advertise that they just work which is bs.
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - Google how long does a mac last from the ones i've seen they last from up to 4-5 years plus even on some old emacs
kapowwebuyer Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - i agree! i love to custom build gaming pc's! u rock man!
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - no research online is accurate about a mac because apple puts out so much bs about microsoft and about macs. Some macs last that long. others will break. PCs can last that long as well. I have a 5 year old asus still running. The thing is, why the hell would you want to run something so old and so outdated? especially with macs, macs are already outdated on their brand new stuff, their old stuff is even worse
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - haha, thanks man. hey, you see that name kapowwebuyer changing to RedDragonAirsoftbuyer any time soon? haha
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - Some they say are true though not all but some like in the ads with a lot of versions of vista and how you have to cancel or allow plenty of what you do
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - million versions of vista doesn't matter. simply get the best one, there's a chart telling you what is, and that cancel or allow thing is the most annoying thing apple says. YOU CAN TURN IT OFF! it's not that hard, go into the controls and turn it off. not hard, not to mention it's not that annoying anyway!
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - But if you do turn it off it won't tell you anything and what good is that or you just have to be careful what you go into
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - no you don't, you don't have to turn off all the firewall when you turn that off. and if you are like me you can download something else like avast for free that has a high detection rate. virus's, trojens, and spyware isn't a problem
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - i guess you could just turn off the cancel or allow thing but you have to download other things to protect your computer like you said. VIsta does boot up slow though compared to mac
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - You wouldn't have to download anything new, I simply do because I like avast more. Even if you had to, oh no, you took 2 min out of your time to download freeware. Just like you did when you took that few min to download firefox that runs better than ie and safari why is vista the new bush? If there's a problem it's vista's fault apparently. No, vista doesn't boot up slow, what controls that is your hardware, this pc boots up in 20 seconds. faster than leopard.
kapowwebuyer Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - sure! i would change the name but i cant now! :( do u know how to? thanks man!
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - It'd change on your account but not when you post unfortunetely. In order to do that you'd need to make a whole new account
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - All well i don't feel like arguing anymore but i actually prefer safari over firefox. just try a mac out if you feel like it it takes a while to get used to though about a week or two depending on the person. I like my mac so need for arguing it's your opinion
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - I've have the option to dual boot on my pc between windows vista, xp, linux, or leopard(hackintosh and two 750gb harddrives allow me to do so) and by far vista is the best.
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - But you haven't actually tried on a real mac
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - that does not matter, macs now run off the same x86 that pcs do. My pc runs leopard better than any mac can and it's still not better than 64-bit vista
beavers42891 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - i 100% agree with you i just wanted to know where you got all your hardware from? cause i calculated my own personal build and it came out to be about 1500 as well
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - I get my hardware from all over the place. such as pcclub down 82nd, newegg, places like that
beavers42891 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - ohhh ok i just was wondering if there was one place that had good prices thanks man
KrazyforMac Says:
Oct 9, 2008 - hmmmmm this waste of hardware saddens me deeply because it was not put into the heart of a mac...what a waste, oh! it runs vista as well, well i do believe that i have lost...NOT! after all vista is just a half assed copy of leopard all that facts piont to that sorry windows fan boys!
Jarek4 Says:
Oct 9, 2008 - now let's think about that. vista is a half assed version of an os that can't do half as much. something about that makes no sense. Also, no, it'd be a waste of hardware putting it into a mac BECAUSE THE MAC CAN'T EVEN HANDLE ANY OF IT! you guys are only up to the 1000 series in video cards for firmware. pcs are to the 4000s. No motherboards are replacable in a mac, about one of if not the most important piece of a computer. the list goes on, and oh yea, you'd be the mac fanboy*points to name*
JosephHonKong Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - But for all those other people who can not build a computer wouldn't it be alright for them? They are also built no UNIX so it's harder to get viruses
